There is a thread running on the Flypast forum about a wreckage of possibly a Wellington bomber coming ashore with the tides, now there doing the right thing, reporting and registering the finds etc

But what perturbs me is amongst some of the images is what appears to be parts of a G suit... or similar, see the image and what do you think?

Hmm. Interesting. Could be a g suit. The strappy bits with buckles on the right look a bit like a mk 6? internal.
The other thing, not sure. Right colour for an old chute pack but looks a bit small even for a chest mounted chute and they were about the smallest. Dinghy pack or aids?
I'd love to see some more views.

I see that someone's suggesting it could be dumped kit on the original site. Seems unlikely to me too.
I never worked on them but I think Jags had a fabric brake 'chute pack in a rigid can. Looks possible. I think we need an older, crustier ex Squipper to take a look.

I have a memory of a Bucc going in whilst practicing for Farnborough in the early 60's. I believe the navigator was an exchange USMC or US Navy flyer. I don't know if both bodies were recovered. Is it possible this is from the crash ?

The first post on that thread was mine, there has been various wreckage washing up for some time now. The parts that look like chutes and or g suits I cna't however comment on.

The chap that found the parts in the first post has taken the advice on there and registered it with the reciever of wrecks with a view to trying to get it displayed in the history room at RAF Lossiemouth.

Hard to tell without actually handling it, but the dark material looks like it could be the internal bladders of a G-suit (esp lower-left) - not the charcoal layer from an NBC suit as I first thought.

Whatever it is it's very NATO green. The inside is the right colour for g suit bladders and there's a bit loose on the right that could be the rear of the lacings. Against that though, I cant see a knee cutaway and the material looks more cotton based than nylon but that could be down to degradation.
I hope it's not a g suit.

Or it could be mil surplus worn by a trawler crew and then dumped over board when they split the arse on it.
