I recently seen the following on the Irish Defence Forces Facebook page.
"The Air Corps flew over 5800 missions last year including 241 Maritime Patrols in support of the Naval Service."

Considering that the IAC consists of only 27 aircraft how can they conduct 12 missions every single day of 2012 when their busiest operations, Emergency Aeromedical Service (EAS) and Marpat account for only approx 550 missions? Where do the other 5250 missions come from? Do the Irish military make the rest of the world look silly?

Maybe they count each touch and go in their C172s as a separate mission ;)

Hey, leave us alone. At least we have an MPA capability. :)

Do they include the service provided to the Garda in those - that's probably worth 4-5 a day, if not more.

Ha ha Cows, have seen your CNs at RIAT over the years, not too bad and had pleasure of seeing your new AW139 at RIAT 2007 and at Farnborough 2008 :)

Cheers

I saw 2 Pilatus in formation sw of Dublin last week. - That's 2 more Military Aircraft in 2 weeks than I've seen for a few months in the UK.

I suspect a Typo............

on the other hand they do a pretty good job on not much cash - and they have their priorities right - Aeromedical, MPA, surveillance

Having read this article. The Irish Defence Force must be doing something right.... Almost 10,500 apply for 600 Defence Forces positions · TheJournal.ie (http://www.thejournal.ie/almost-10500-apply-for-600-defence-forces-positions-427468-Apr2012/)

Yes there is and, AFAIK, so far not guilty of causing civilian deaths in foreign countries.

Happy Thanksgiving.
