Lots of things going on in the Sand Box these days as US Troops begin the final rotation of Units before the upcoming end of Operations in 2014.

It is reported far more utilization of Contractors shall be necessary as many Military functions will have to be outsourced.

Sounds like lots of Dosh to be had if one is in the right organization.

Sorry chaps, am I missing something here? I can find nothing in that article that reports or implies outsourcing to Contractors. The central drip seems to be:

Controversy engulfed both U.S. Cental Command (CENTCOM) and the Taliban on Monday, when both were revealed to be outsourcing combat operations to the Afghan National Army (ANA).


Firstly, since when has handing over defence of a Country to its own Army been "outsourcing"?

Secondly, the main concern seems to be that the bad buggers don't need to conduct offensive "operations" themselves because they have blokes embedded in the ANA to do it for them.

Some dosh just ain't worth the risk!
