How many Wannabes....?

I have been watching the member counter with some interest over the recent weeks and some days we seem to be swelling the PPRuNe ranks by nearly a 100 a day.

I was wondering if there was any way of telling how many, if any, are Wannabes?

Do the moderators have any idea how many Wannabes there are registered as PPRuNers?

Maybe if I watch how any people read this thread.....?

Wannabes is second only to Reporting Points as the busiest forum on Pprune, as can be seen from the 'Total Posts' column at Forum Home. However, there is no way of knowing how many of Pprune's 48,000 users are Wannabes.

In the nature of the beast, a Wannabe is only such (for the purposes of Pprune) while he or she is attempting to obtain professional licences and the first commercial job. In the 6 or 7 years that Pprune has exisited, probably 5,000 or more people have made the transition from Wannabe to commercial pilot, or have tried and failed. At any one time, this forum would normally have 200 or so active contributors.
