As their is a lot if pre season activity in the far East, I was wonder infringement if anyone knew the travel arrangements were for the clubs, for example if any of the teams have charters jets or used commercial airlines.

I know liverpool used titan last year for their America tour, and Man City have had a 330 on charter from their sponsors.

Any other thoughts people.

Apologies HD,

Aren't HiFlys's 340-600 ex VS birds? Suppose with the greater space in J cabin for the amount of personal they will require, still not a bad pitch in Y+

Crystal Palace intend using a fleet of Cessna Caravan 208's to take their fans from Biggin Hill (not really even close to Palace, maybe LCY might be better?)
to exotic places such as Newcastle this year.
Well we've got a big away support :\

'208's are singles and that's a nono at City.
For domestic matches, Fulham and Chelsea usually fly from Farnborough using 'brokered' aircraft which could be Emb 145 family or Saab 340/2000 family, sometimes CRJs. Premiership Teams playing away at the 'Cottage or the 'Bridge often arrive in similar types.
One season Fulham were away at the Riverside for the final match of the season, and the club chartered a '747 to take supporters to Tees Valley airport or whatever they were calling Middleton St George that week.

Chelsea have an A340-300 from HiFly on charter next week for there trip to the US. Ex-EK planes I'm led to believe.

Speaking of football charters, does anybody remember the Leeds United flight from one of the London airports if memory serves me correctly?

I would have thought Manchester City would have use of an Etihad aircraft - has their sponsor changed for this season? I do recall they had a club-liveried A330 not so long ago.

A lot of clubs just use a broaker to arrange their air travel arrangements. Obviously it does depend on whether or not the fixture is Barclays, European or maybe a tour somewhere around the globe.

By looking at flights in/out of Cardiff Airport last year I have seen a few airlines and aircraft types. The most frequent visitor seemed to be BMI Regional on the Embraer 145.

Bmi Regional (Embarer 145)
Eastern Airways (Jetstream 41)
Suckling Airways (Dornier 328)
Cello Aviation (BAe146-200)
Flybe (Dash8-Q400)
GainJet (B757-200)

I recollect reading a while ago that the Arsenal's insurers stipulated that they had to use a jet aircraft rather than a prop for away matches. Most big teams use Embraers these days, when they would have used a Do328 a few years back.
