just heard a rumour that Vincent (bases in WLG & DRW) are getting two 737's.

Not sure where they are getting them from, but could have a good guess.

Haven't they got a third 73 in the paint shop at John holland?

BNEA320
24th Jul 2013, 04:45
heard that, but also heard 1 of their current 733's is being scrapped as D check due & that costs more than aircraft is worth.

Apparently you can buy a 733 with checks done for bit over a million.

No Boeing 737 shows on the Aircraft Register under Vincent Aviation in Australia or NZ.

falconx
24th Jul 2013, 08:34
Probably because their not on the register yet perhaps?

24th Jul 2013, 09:01
Yes, I've heard the rumours but not of Vincent? I heard its a new organization that are looking at up to three classic 737's to run on RPT / Ad Hoc / Mining work...

ON has 3 B733, INU/NLK/PNI. When I was last in ML 3 weeks ago, PNI was in the JHAS hanger.

Converted to an Airwork freighter isn't it?

BNEA320
24th Jul 2013, 22:49
so does that mean they will have 3 x 733's or is one becoming a freighter ?

falconx
24th Jul 2013, 23:30
One becoming a freighter

BNEA320
25th Jul 2013, 00:25
that makes sense as heard that a Hercules has been chartered on numerous occasions to fly BNE/INU to take up building materials that can't go by boat.

With the massive increase in building on Nauru for the next 10 years (apart from replacing that which was burn down) they need a freighter.

Vincent, Airwork, Our Airlines, where is the Townsville refueler to get some hard facts?

BNEA320
25th Jul 2013, 01:55
heard that old Strategic/Air Australia TSV/Bali route is being looked at again. Think they flew it up to 3 times a week.

All these ideas sound wonderful with plenty of past experiences to prove how successful these ventures can be.

Turn yourself into a millionaire, start with two and end up with one!

These ideas sound wonderful indeed. Ideas of old for VA, a 732, then a DC9, now 733. At least the Saab came along, but the Dash 8 went west. Inherited the 146, added some Jetstreams.

I'll believe the 733 only when i see it. Good on Pete though if he can pull it off.

BNEA320 I would love some of those $1 million 733 !!!!! Can you tell me where you get them as it costs more than that just to get one on the Australian register. Do any of you guys know what you are talking about because I can assure you most of these posts are fiction.

There's one in NZCH getting chopped up for coke cans. I reckon you could get it for a bit under a million.

love to know where ........................ Romania, possibly. Just ask Ozjet and their experience with their 732's there.

One becoming a freighter

unlikely.

With OXA/OXB now in service and with OXC coming shortly I'm sure NZ will be having some 733s comming up at bargin rates

FWIW, the ex Ozjet ones at PH are 200s,not 300s, big difference.

Folks,
You don't have to try too hard, on broker's web sites, to find B737-300, with some times remaining, for somewhere between US$1-1.5M --- but they are pax. aircraft, not freighters.

The freight door conversion costs more the above airframe, and as in everything to do with aircraft, the capital cost of the equipment is only a small part of the deal in running any aircraft.

At present prices, in this category, the ideal cargo conversion is to a high gross weight B737-400. The costs of RVSM compliance, RNP ability and providing ADS-B out are not inconsiderable costs, certainly not small change.

I noticed mention of the Hercules, these are L-382G models being used, what you can use them for, versus a B737-anythingC, are very different markets. You can take a Herc. to places where a B737 is out of the question, but there is a cost $$. For truck-bed loads you need a truck with wings.

Tootle pip!!

Positioning ZK-SLA last year from YPPH-YBBN the route was YPPH-YPKG-YAYE-YBAS-YBMA-YBRK-YBBN!

It seems Our Airline are expanding and need more crew. Just spotted their advert on the AFAP site.

If that's the case I doubt if they're scrapping an aircraft as others have suggested.

Witwiw, are you a capt?

down3gr33ns
23rd Aug 2013, 04:05
WITIW is incorrect (i.e. "not one"), one Captain has recently gone RORO (roster ON, roster OFF).

So, half a captain down as a consequence.

feenix
24th Aug 2013, 23:33
Actually both WITWIW and D&3Gs are both wrong. Although one has gone part time he has already been replaced by a new DEC, so they are actually half a Captain up plus 6 new F/O's have been recruited with more Captains and F/O's to come. PNI on line when CASA finalise paperwork and definitely no aircraft being scrapped. Watch this space
