The PJ068 microphone connector differs in shape from the .206 stereo jack...
Pushing a stereo jack into a panel socket wired for PTT from the headset will often result in the radio locking into the transmit mode.... embarrassing.
Take care when purchasing replacement lead sets.... if you wish the headset to be universal make sure you get the PJ068! If both jacks are the same profile, you are heading for problems....
If the aircraft is NOT wired for PTT from headset, everything seems to work fine.
G-BAJZ is an example... wired forty odd years ago. Sorry we blocked Headcorn for five minutes, while we worked out what was going on.....
