I stayed at Fielden Court Hotel. 18 a night, FULL B&B, tel 01202 427459, mention me Phil.

Optional dinner 6-7 a night.

V. friendly, clean and quiet with own facilities incl desk.

I stayed there when I was at PPSC last year, and whenI was at PAT a couple of weeks back.

As PS says, Its got to be Fielden Court Hotel. Nice and friendly, very good breakfast, clean, and quiet enough for study in the evenings. They have study tables and desk lamps in the rooms for your homework. Rooms vary quite a bit in shape and size (all en-suite), so if you get one you like, ask for it again when you book. I have stayed there on many occasions and there always seemed to be studying pilots staying there. However, may be quieter now that PPSC have sadly gone. There were often fully booked in the past.. .They are very helpful and if you need a bigger table or lamp (I'm over 40 !) just ask. They will also get up early and give you a full english breakfast when you have an IR test in the morning so you can still be at PAT at 0800.. .It is about 15 mins easy drive from EGHH and 3 mins from the seafront. So when your head won't take in any more information, you can go for a walk along the front.. .Reasonable pub (which also serves food) 4 mins walk away.. .What more could you want?

I was there:

End April 1999 (PPSC)

Mid August 2000 ( IR Sim work at PAT)

1st week Oct 2000 to mid Nov 2000 (IR flying at PAT)

Wonder if we have met, but there must be hundreds of pilots who have stayed at F C Hotel while training.

QNH 1013,

I was there End Jan 2001 until beg March 2001 (PPSC) and then Jan 2002 PAT IR.

Presumably your 1999 stay was with the former owners.

I take it you are still on the lookout for work.

Another alternative is the Kimberley Court Hotel 01202 427 582 I think it is just around the corner from the fielden.

All bedrooms are study bedrooms £18/night dinner B&B.

Sue, who runs it is a very good landlandy and she gets a lot of pilots staying there.

If you want some tips on instructors at PAT e-mail me.

And if you don't fancy staying in a hotel............

I am staying at a place in Boscombe that was once a B&B and is now just a familly that rent out rooms by the week to pilots. Rooms are OK, nothing too swanky, but perfectly adequate (TV, sink, desk etc). 2 bathrooms shared between the guests and a kitchen (no meals provided).

And the best thing - £45 to £55 a week depending on whether you have a single or double bed.

They used to rely on SFT students so are empty at the moment (apart from me) so there's no problem getting a room.

Don't have the phone number on me at the moment, but I can get it if you want it?

Good luck
