Tried to straighten the pin, so it broke :(. It belongs to the Bendix HSI.

To the avionics experts on PPRuNe: Anyone know if there is a easy fix for this or do you have to change the whole connector?

Thanks in advance :)

Looking at the connector it seems like its possible to crimp a new pin and insert it in place of the broken one, However consult your relevant electrical standard practices manual for that particular pin to make sure.
Just make sure to straighten the pin with a socket to be able to extract it.

I'm assuming that goes to a KI-525 or a KI-525A correct?

Short answer maybe.

King offered both soldered and crimped connectors for the install kit. If you have soldered connectors, you will have to change the whole connector. If they are crimped, you can just change the pin.

This may not be current but a KCS 55A install manual can be found here:

http://www.mikeg.net/hobbies/aviation/avionics/installation/King%20KCS-55A%20Install.pdf

If it's crimped you'll need:
030-01081-0001 ( The pin, order a few extra :) )
Positronix P/N 9081 (extraction tool)
And the crimp tool and positioner. I recommend the Daniels ones.

BTW: if it is a soldered connector, replace it with a crimped one. It will be 20 times easier to do in the aircraft, and if a pin gets broken in the future, much easier to repair.
