Hi all, many years ago I was able to buy clear contact to cover WACs (charts) but a particular type that was gritty or matt and easy to write on with a soft pencil. The glossy stuff is much harder to write on with a soft pencil. Does anyone know where I might buy this in Sydney in 2013?
The newsagents, office works, etc don't have it.

I find the relatively glossy stuff OK to write on using a water based marker. Easy to clean off too. Getting the contact on with no wrinkles is the tricky bit!!

Back in the old days, after applying the contact, we would soak the map in water and rub the paper off the back. Result one waterproof WAC chart.

I don't bother with contact. Just use a soft pencil (2B is my preference) and rub it out when you want. The charts still last for years & years. The same pencil can be used on your whiz wheel & flight plan, so no having to use a 'special' writing tool for different tasks.

I used gladwrap in the past and that worked for me. You need to sticky tape it to the map though.
