An interesting interview on the sidelines of Paris. Covers a lot of subjects including the fact that the govt are 'urgently' assessing an earlier move to DWC due EK/DIA being four years ahead of growth forecast.

Not sure why the co wouldn't put a candid interview like this on the Groupworld - quite informative.

About 18 min long:

I have never heard TC in any interview refer to a "triple 7", always the "7-7-7". When talking of the "7-7-7-8X" in the same sentance as a "7-8-7-8", I find it confusing and at odds with his normal exact and terse manner of speech. For those outside the industry and for those even slightly dyslexic it must be highly confusing.

Too right Fliion,

Why we must always wait for Bloomberg or Flightglobal or whoever else to learn anything constructive about our own company is beyond me. I guess employee engagement simply isn't on the agenda.

I have raised this exact point during a management wash up, but you get the usual rethoric as an aswer followed by the...you feel it coming...If you dont like it leave.

Not being a management apologist, but in this instance, if you don't get why it's put on Bloomberg et al first, rather than groupworld..then I'm afraid my explanation will be lost in the baying howls of derision and contempt.
It's called control, of the message, the timing, the content and the context, if you haven't figured that out yet in this very Brand sensitive place, then you'll never get it.
Why broadcast it on groupworld to 55K employees when you can broadcast it to 55 million via TV and the web?
Why do you think they are so suspicious of anyone putting stuff on facetube?

Falcon, I totally understand that certain data, especially in listed companies, needs to be released via those channels, my apologies if I wasn't clear.

I was more getting at regular updates as to what is really happening, how we are doing and what we are facing, can't say I find the daily broadcast particularly informative.

I also realise that EK changes it's mind at least once a day as to what the current business needs are, but still....It wouldn't hurt to kill, or if need be confirm, the occasional rumour, to take away some of the recent contempt many have had for the way things are being dealt with at the moment.

Ahh yes the commercially sensitive stuff:E I think there's about as much chance of that as finding a....well you get my drift.
I'm on the same page as you BTW, but I've been exposed to corporate communication types in another industry in years gone by so I'm not turning blue whilst avoiding inhaling.

Simple answer....if you don't like it...

Shame really, with very little effort...I mean "zero cost" and a healthy dose of common sense I'm sure this place would do considerably better, however the floggings will continue until morale improves.
