How do you prefer your toilet roll? With the free end hanging on the side towards the wall, or away? Or more exotic arrangements? Away from the wall for me.

When the paper runs out - the writing's on the wall!!!

There's never been anything to beat pieces of Daily Mirror or whatever else you prefer, spiked onto a nail banged into the wall. Gives you something to read while you're at it.

Back in the Golden Days you could tell all about a family's political affiliation from a visit to their loo.

...and you got all those back-to-front headlines transferred to your backside, which you could read in a mirror.:)

Sorry but there's only one way .. the soft stuff - free side outwards.

The Old Rose pub near Lambeth Bridge used to have copies of the Daily Telegraph in each cubicle :)

Can anyone suggest why, in an hotel room, someone always folds the end of the - usually partly used - bogroll into a little point?

Not to put too fine a point on it, perhaps that sharpens it up so you can work things out for yourself?
