Sorry if there's already a thread for this which I've missed.

I'm planning a trip to Alderney in a hired club aircraft. Naturally, I wish to claim the fuel duty drawback, but the aircraft hire cost includes fuel, so I won't have my own separate receipt for the fuel loaded. I've asked the club if they could provide a letter to indicate that the hire charge includes fuel and, possibly, to say how much fuel I used. However, this is looks like unknown territory for the club and I don't want to feel that I'm being a nuisance.

Does anyone have any personal experience in this area, or is it unusual for people to claim fuel drawback on hired aircraft?

Thanks in advance and happy flying,

Most clubs will give you a copy of the fuel chits for the fuel that has been loaded onto the aircraft prior to departure............ If they will not find another flying club !

As long as you can say how much fuel is in the tanks and how much has been consumed since last arrival from foreign you can fill in the form. I've never sent a receipt to the folks in Newcastle in the 10 years I've been claiming
