Had my first solo today out of Oban airfield. I've read so much on this forum I thought maybe this would be giving something back - thanks to all the help and advice that's on here - so pleased !! Ian

Congratulations on your solo! I trust you had plenty of people watching to congratulate you on the field. For some reason when Imdid mine the instructor waited until everyone including the A/G operator had gone home and there was only him and me at the field:0

Thanks yes there was an audience to see me in, the same firemen I had watched suiting up and getting into their vehicle as I taxied to take off - suddenly I thought this is VERY serious! Did a go around on first approach as I was a bit high but second approach fine and surprisingly a nice landing ! It seems a long way ahead though to the dreaded skills test ! Thanks again
