Memory map and IPad

Sorry if this sounds a simple question but its eluding me somewhat. I recently bought an Ipad mini (wifi and cellular) and put on the memory map half mill charts. I am however unable to display gps position on it and have checked basic settings but still no luck.
Any ideas much appreciated!

It should just work. Make sure you're not in Airplane mode as that disables the GPS.

Other thing to check is Settings > Privacy > Location Services and make sure Memory Map is enabled

It was location services.......bit new to this I pad stuff!
