Anyone has more info on this incident?

"The aircraft flew from Tashkent at 13:15 local time on Friday, and at 14:10 local time landed in Shymkent in connection with the problems in one of the air conditioning systems. None of the 136 passengers on board of the aircraft was injured," the statement said.

The passengers reported fumes and smell of something burning while oxygen masks were used for breathing.

Further information states that aircraft landed with one damaged due to one of the gears not extending fully.

One of the passengers stated that one of the engines failed after 20-30 minutes after take off and prior to fumes being noticed.

Oxygen generators themselves produce an oily burning door..

Zero information so far to come up with any conclusion...
And, yes, oxygen generators produce kind of unpleasent smell.

Unusual for passengers complaining about an aircraft being oily. They typically only complain when the aircraft arrives late....

Using pax o2 in a fume/fire situation is the last thing you wanna do.... I agree, likely the odor was because of, not the reason for, oxygen use...

Engine failure reported? Could also be the reason for oily smell in the cabin. In that case, would you use drop down o2 in the cabin, or only if a pressurisation problem as well?
