Hi

Does anyone have knowledge of decoding SSM messages?

I know I could by the IATA book or CD-ROM, but at over $500 it seems a bit much!

The message I have receicved is a "CON" message.

Any help appreciated

Regards

Maybe talking at cross purposes here, but if it's an AIRIMP type SSIM message of the type exchanged between airline systems then I can almost certainly tell you what it means, but I suspect you may be referring to something else.

PM answered in detail.

I understand that you would not have wanted to put them on the forum although in fact there is no commercially sensitive information there.

They are configuration messages sent by an airline to the GDSs which are parsed to construct timetable and schedule displays for that airline.

The response in a GDS would be something like this (which of course is fictitious) :

BA 123 LHR MAD JCDIYMLWBXGQNO/B 1205 1415 27FEB13-27OCT13 12345
319
CONFIG C16 M123

showing flight number/route/subclasses/mealcode/timings/period of effectivity/day operated/aircraft type/cabin config

There's other stuff they'll show too.
