Gentelmen and Ladies,

My question is for those of you holding JAA/EASA certificates who come to the states for training.

I am curious about your overall impressions and observations when dealing with a FAA Instructor and or Examiner holding a SFI and or SFE. What did you like, not like, what would you suggest, good and bad experiences, etc...

I have both FAA & EASA PPL over here in the states. I did not have a problem with either but I found that the EASA instructors had more of a theoretical knowledge than that of the FAA. And I find since the 1500TT regulation you may come across lots of FAA instructors who are doing the job because they feel they HAVE to, not because they WANT to.

PM if you would like

Talking about SFI and SFEs here, not about DPEs and CFIs.

Let me clarify,

I wish to discuss the experiences of those among you who have recieved additional type ratings on your ATP ATPL. From SFIs and SFEs in level D FFS.
