alexsupra,

Check the A380 thread...

...now THAT's an INTERESTING crosswind landing video!

I make that a 2kt crosswind (runway 053, wind 060/16). I think I could f--t harder than that. I have to say I've seen more extreme crosswind landings.

This is the most severe crosswind component I have seen UPS DC8, you do not really notice it until he gives up the fight and aborts.

Groundloop, the runway is 05(R) and the second windcheck is 080/18, which makes it much less than a 14kts crosswind component.
Sorry, I'm very tired & busy at the moment otherwise I would have worked out the exact figure for you.

9 across for cash :ok:
Nor exactly a problem in a 74.

Thanks Basil. :ok: I knew it wasn't too much even the C152 wouldn't really quail at the thought of landing in that. (Demonstrated Crosswind Component for C12 = 15kts but it has been landed in much higher than that - with proper supervision of course.) ;)

Point of order, demonstrated crosswind component for a C152 is 12knots, unless a C12 is something different! C172 is 15kts.

I don't have my C152 POH to hand, I think it's in the caravan which is over 50 miles away from here :( so can't check. Having said that, I'm sure it is 15kts but let's not worry for now. I'll have to remember to check when I next go back to the caravan. The C12 was a typo due to the fact that I was tired and this keyboard has an intermittent nasty habit of not registering that a key has been struck. There were plenty of those in that post and writing this one has proved to be just the same.
Sorry DD, you were right. I've just managed to find an online POH.
