Hi guys,

My first post here. Glad to be onboard!

I was wondering if any of you know of any reliable info/data collected on the noise level in the cockpit of the following aircraft: the Twin Otter, Dash 7 and Dash 8 100/300? Especially noise data from the Twin Otter would be much appreciated!

My tinnitus has unfortunately gotten to the point where I can no longer safely perform my duties as a pilot, and I'm doing some research into the noise levels on the aircraft I have operated throughout the years.

Thanks!

Miserable, isn't it? I don't have the specific information you need, but just to say I'd spent 13 months trying to keep a small airline afloat by training hours in the day and then often doing the night schedule - all on Perf A turboprops. It was about then mine started.

Mine is livable-with, but I wish it wasn't there. I hope yours reduces somewhat - there are times when I feel it goes quieter for a year or two at a time. Always hope, and always the possibility of scientific progress now that so much is known about the problem.
