Air New Zealand pilot nodded off in cockpit (http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/03/01/17/28/air-new-zealand-pilot-nodded-off-in-cockpit)

They publish it like it's something new. Yes, it's very significant, but it happens every day.

I do like the last bit, though:

Air New Zealand said the pilot would not face disciplinary action as it did not want to discourage staff from reporting such incidents.

I had a lovely nap just this morning. Sleep best in cruise.

The alarm on the classic was the last waypoint...a quick 360 and coffee anyone?

Sigh... It's been over 15 years since I used the egg timer on the classic. What a great airplane

Shock horror.

Said he couldn't sleep in London because of AC problems.

Sounds familiar with the usual motion activated systems that shut off in the middle of the night and you wake up in a hot room.

I empathize.

Wake me up at 20nm/250kt/5000ft. Ten switch/lever/dial movements, we're on the ground.
