"On the QT mate....."

'A friend of mine' has been talking to a contact at 'higher formation' and was asked on the qt if I would like to enquire on the attractiveness of a package involving transfers to the RAF. This transfer would not involve a signing off phase, be direct, and was hinted at Army QHI only, with Apache experience preferred.

I don't really think it would take the brains of an archbishop to realise the outcome of this enquiry in the crewroom on Monday, I know my answer.

However, I wondered if anyone else had heard of this "Take-over bid".

Something is stirring amigoes and not just in my underpants!

ACORN....

Paranoia is a disease of the mind. If you suffer from it there is a conspiracy theory for everything!

Do you really think the RAF wants the Apache. You are welcome to it, it is more trouble than it is worth for the RAF, just another diversion of assets and another specialisation that we don't need.

If I'd wanted to fly a tank and be told how to fly and fight my aircraft by some cavalry hoorah henry in purple jodpurs whose ideas of mobile warfare are similar to Lord Haig's, then I would have joined the Kings Royal Tarts and Vicars in the first place.

Having spoken with a nob at innsworth who has no idea of the value of individuals with weapons. EW, radar or significant flying experience, I suspect this is a poor fishing exercise.
