HI all

just got a new computer and after a day changing over everything from my old computer I hope this is the last time I have to do this...

THe thing is, I can't seem to view online videos or see any video drivers.h

Now Win 8 is different to me old XP, but can anyone tell me what to look for?

The thing is, if you see anything on the screen at all then Windows 8 has video drivers installed.

Have you installed Flash on your new computer?

what make / model of machine is this?
or have you built it yourself?

Its custom built by an Aussie company.

I have Windows 8 stuff on the home screen.

I tried to download flash last night but it seemed to freeze.

Thanks for the help!

it probably is a lack of Flash
If it won't install through the Adobe web page, try a direct download instead

For internet explorer
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player_ax.exe

For all other browsers
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe

After you've done that, install the K-lite codec pack
Codecs.com | Downloads for K-Lite Codec Pack 9.7.5 Full, Standard and Basic (http://www.free-codecs.com/k_lite_codec_pack_download.htm)
go for the 9.7.5 full version and do a "standard installation without media player"

You are joking ain't you. Win 9/10 will be announced next week for release early next month, probably. Oh so SO much better than Win 8!
Why do you think they're some of the richest people in the world? Because folk like US keep buying this CRAP!:=

Remember when you had time to fill that didn't involve computers??

No nor me hardly :(

right on stumpy

I kind of felt fatalistic when I wrote that.

I'd keep XP if I could but it isn't supported anymore and my old tower was eight years old and couldn't go any faster.

Thanks for your links too Milo... but the machine now tells me I have the latest Adobe player, but still no result on the online stuff???

exactly which files are you trying to play?
what - if any - error message are you getting?

If I use IE, there's no problem, but the computer is trying to use BING and that doesn't seem to have the viewer associated..

I'm going to download Chrome today...

Sounds like the PC isn't completely setup yet.
Go into control panel > programs & features
If the Bing desktop is listed, uninstalll it.
