View Full Version : Name of Movie wanted

I remember seeing a movie where a nutty professor joined a group of surfers. California of course. He worked out how to surf by writing equations in the sand, got on a board and fell off.

Then he went back to his equations, found an error, corrected it, got on a board and surfed perfectly.

Any ideas for movie name and who played the professor?

That was Good Will Surfing, and the Professor was played by Robin Williams.

Can anyone tell me the name of an ancient B&W movie I saw as a kid? It was some bloke who invented some
sort of small Wright Flyer-ish plane. The ending, which is all I can vaguely remember, had him flying his plane
towards the Sun after he died. Thanks.

...had him flying his plane towards the Sun after he died. Sorry, I can only recall one old B&W movie, but this "had him flying his plane towards the Sun (or moon) before he died". ;)

11Fan - Thanks for that, I'll try to get hold of Good Will Hunting and watch it, though my recollection is of the movie being very much before 1997. :ok:

Looks like a scene out of Endless Summer.....before I wax the board for the season I always like to watch a few of the classics.... Endless Summer, Point Break (timeless!) and Longboards on Tour (Simply Stupid).

Point Break (timeless!)

You can say that again :ok:

I know it is a surf movie but I love the Parachuting scenes into the lake.

I learn't to surf at Treyarnon Bay in Cornwall, not far from Watergate.

500N couldn't agree more, but I suspect we're trapped in a scene from somewhere else....
