Just checked my logbook, I had an 'OPS' flight that day. I don't recall if I did camera, perhaps somebody else on the crew can recall who took it.. You could usually tell my photos from the fingerprint over the lens.

Surplus, MR2?

Would you have had a field laid as well?

PN,

Sir - A field? Against a Nuc? Or was it onsta - I can't remember that far back! ;)

Did I pass the test? (Capt was TC.)

It may well have been one of the dry guys who took the photo.

I can. Like it was yesterday actually. Can't you remember what we were all doing a couple of days before we all rushed home to look up the range of a Dagger and A4 in our Jane's All the Worlds Combat Aircraft????? ;););)

Not the crew I was part of, we were flying on the ops the 29 and 31 March. Would probably have been involved in it somewhere along the line....

TOFO,

Nope, too much Kokkinelli and Pandemonium I'm afraid.

I do remember watching the invasion on the telly and thinking I'd best look out my cold weather flying suit. :hmm::hmm::hmm:

Not me, i was down in Albuquerque, new Mexico dropping some shapes on the White Sands Missile range, followed by Harpoon targeting in Puerto Rico, which was good timing, knowing how our offensive systems were getting expanded.

Just checked my log book. My lead dry took it from the port beam in St Mawgan's MCT!!

Interestingly only a few days later we did the first mail drop to the Invincible Task Group as it headed south for the Falklands. The mail containers contained only video cassettes of their leaving Portsmouth. The charlie oscar wasn't best pleased!!

Your mission could have equally been SURPIC, with depth keeping like that. Quite disgracefully poor! I hope that the OOW was suitably chastised, in some gulag....:)

I can't seem to remember much of anything anymore. However Surplus, it was most unlikely to have been taken by a Dry guy as this one obviously came out.

Considering many Nimrod crewmembers are checking this thread, could I ask if anyone remembers if ASW (dropping buoys and so on) missions were flew from Ascension Island back in 1982? Regards!

We flew quite a few from Ascension in '82. Unfortunately, I lost my logbook covering that period though.
