Thought hard as to whether this belonged in the military section or JB. JB is probably best.

Got to have a giggle though Ahmi-dinner-jam and his cronies are just so funny. So who's going to volunteer to fly it? I will contribute the 20c.

The wheels are hilarious; it looks like they were borrowed from a shopping trolley.

WitW: That's to give it a tight turning circle - on the ground. :D

I love the 20c and it will shake comment but obviously he doesn't have young children or shopping centres nearby. Those things cost a $ or 2 now. But then they also have flashing lights :\

I didn't know that Airfix was available in Iran.

You learn something every day.

I'm probably looking at it wrong, but I can't see how the main landing gear retracts, the doors are on the wrong side, surely as it is the wheels can't retract but are left parallel with the wing waving in the breeze?

"state of the art" certainly is, nice piece of art, will look good at the next exhibition.

It sure didn't take long for the mods to remove my post about I'm-a-dinner-jacket. Lets see how long this lasts!

"Salaam. Is that the Tehran Grammar School Physics Department? Ministry of Defence here. We need to borrow one of your power packs for our stealth fighter. Yup, 8 Amps is fine."

Looks like a grand piano to me :uhoh:.

It's obviously got a clockwork motor.

They left the key in front of the blue curtain.

Apparently the Iranians actually admitted elsewhere that it's a mock up and the flying model is just that, a model. As if it wasn't glaringly obvious. Not really sure what they're trying to prove with stunts like this. Maybe it's for domestic consumption as much as anything.

Whatever the reason. We won't be seeing hordes of these in the air anytime soon. Stealth fighter my eye!

It's very stealthy.I bet no-one will ever detect it on radar.

7th Feb 2013, 10:21
Looking at the position of the engine air intakes I suspect the airflow would get interesting with a few degrees of AoA. The wing airfoil section looks anything but high speed - the last wing section I saw that looked like that was on a WW 2 Hawker Typhoon!

I must say that circular conveyor belt is a great innovation - much more efficient than those long runway types!

That aeroplane is a spoof to lead us away from the real thing.

This one really is secret:

The big blue cloth is not a curtain. It's sombody's wife.

"state of the art"

As in Tracy Emin style?

7th Feb 2013, 15:29
The bit I liked was how one report pointed out there was no exhaust so the latest star of Carry On Iran would kinda incinerate itself.

So it's not very stealthy. It's maybe invisible to radar, but you ain't gonna miss it on infra-red...........

You dim guys are completely missing the point.

It doesn't matter a bit that WE can all see its as fake as a $7 bill.

What matters is that the average Iranian Joe thinks it's real!

And that one of these can take out a dozen F-22s

And that his Government is tough and smart.

Wake up!
