With a nod to Jesse off the "Fast Show" for the thread title :ok:

I’ve just come across The CAS Reading List for 2012 here ...

http://www.airpowerstudies.co.uk/CAS%20Reading%20List%202012.pdf

So it occurs to me that we might be able to assist by suggesting the PPRuNe Alternative List (PAL). I'm sure there’s plenty of scope to be slightly irreverent and humorous without resort to the mention of certain esoteric “Top Shelf” adult material … so let’s have your learned suggestions … :8

The Book Titles can be real or spoof (cover pics if possible) ... but should have a tenable link to the purpose of broadening the young Military Aviation Leaders mind :E

I’ll kick off with a couple of starters … Each title should have a few lines to articulate relevance.

"My Foot in Your Ass" by Dr Seuss.

Essential reading for Senior and Junior Officers alike whether you are giving or receiving a bollocking.

"Fart Proudly" by Carl Japikse.

Really a Training Book to help understand the aero-medical impacts of ascending in an unpressurised cockpit.

A Ladybird Book "How it works ... The Aeroplane."

For those attending their first CFS Course.

I remember my Boss telling me that I should read some of the books on CAS' reading list if I wanted to realise my potential. I asked him if the Oxford Air Training ATPL training syllabus was on it! :E

What a crock of poo! Are these people for real? As for the sycophantic ramblings in the AirPower Reviews - well they just want me make me want to :{
My 9 year old kid knows more about AirPower than some of these bozos! :ugh:

A Ladybird Book "How it works ... The Aeroplane."

Not as daft as it seems. I was told that a similar Ladybird book on how helicopters fly was recommended reading at Tern Hill for those just starting on the basic course. Any rotorheads care to confirm or deny?

Forget the crystal ball - predicting the future is all about the toilet bowl. 'Arsetrology' is a groundbreaking new book which uncovers the hidden depths of your number twos, using the ancient art of poo-reading.

If horoscopes and palm-reading are driving you round the u-bend, then panic no more. Sit down, relax, do your thing - and then proudly gaze upon what you have produced to discover what the future has in store. Examine the shape, look and texture of your crap - and then match it up to one of the 'poo runes' to read the long and short of what your **** means.

'Arsetrology' will be your indispensable guide to dropping the kids off at the pool. Put it by your throne, and refer to it every time you get the call of nature, to stay one step ahead of the game. Understand your life through the lav, and never underestimate the turd's telling powers again.

The people who read this sort of tripe must also read this (excuse some of the ancient Dutch phrases)...
