OK, as far as Oz is concerned, it's Australia Day, even though it's Friday here.

To all our Aussie colleagues on Pprune

Happy Australia Day

Snag, anyone?

I could have sworn that said 'Shag anyone?' the first time I looked at it.

You did that deliberately, didn't you?

You're (all) terrible, Muriel. :E

It was always "shag anyone?" I would like the snag before the shag!

That's what they all say :O

The problem is, an Australian's version of fore play doesn't extend
past "Are you awake dear ? :O (and even that is stretching it a bit far !)

Hmmm... I read the thread title and thought "Advanced Australia"... I had to read to see who was so misguided... :E

"I thought it was "Brace yerself Sheila""

Yes, correct but is used for the "picked up Sheila" that you
don't actually take home :O

The "Are you awake dear ?" is for your GF or wife :O

I am told that the sophisticated Australian's pick up line is 'Allo, Sheila, do you shag?'

To which, they tell me that the sophisticated Australian woman replies 'Not with a smooth talking bastard like you'..................

I don't really believe it, though.

Especially since I saw a report saying that Kiwi women have more sex partners before and after marriage than any other nationality. I expect Kiwi women leave sheep alone, even if Kiwi men ........No, don't lets go there.

Because of the knock backs to 'Allo, Sheila, do you shag?'
it has turned into ""Brace yerself Sheila" :O

Some verbal dexterity required if your wife's name is Sheila then?

She is my local pollie, I have known of her for over 20 years.
No chance of her ever losing the seat !

And never in my mind did I think she would be PM.

"..Advance Australia fair..."

I still reckon 'Waltzing Matilda' would have been a better National Anthem... Its one of those songs, like 'Flower of Scotland' which sounds best sung by a large crowd. I can't find a good 'crowd' rendition which isn't drowned out by the soloist though, so Here's Rolf Harris's version.

Even so, Happy Australia Day to all concerned!

'This here is the wattle, it's the emblem of our land,
You can stick it in a bottle, or hold it in your hand.
Australia's a lovely place, it's full of bonzer blokes,
There's lots of beer and no-ones queer
Except in pommy jokes.'

Happy Birthday Straylia...!
