Just downloaded the Dark Knight Rises on iTunes and pretty impressive film mainly (notably Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and looking good as French maid!) the 'Bat' and it reminded me of the proposed Phalanx Dragon 4 poster VTOL craft proposed to the US Army as a battlefield attack.
I first came across the Dragon in Airland Battle 2000 by Christopher Campbell in the conclusion chapter with artists illustration showińg a pair of Dragons shooting down a pair of Soviet Mi-24 with Stingers.
I know the Phalanx Dragon was covered in another thread

Thinking aloud on this snow covered day :) such a concept would look on say the Afghan battlefield however any case for a four poster VTol would be with an unmanned system of tomorrow's battlefield or not necessarily?
Cheers
