Biggin Hill must have got a lot of snow yesterday, how well do they did they cope? Where there any significant delays?

Can they usually be relied on to keep things moving, how did they do in 2010 for example?

Just curious to see how they compare to the commercial airports which for the most part seem to be a disaster whenever a bit of snow comes our way.

By matter of coincidence, I happened to be at Biggin Hill yesterday during the blizzard (the British version of a bizzard...). No problems at all! There was some blowing snow remaining on the runway, which was cleared all day. Well within the limitations of our aircraft, even with commercial factoring applied.
The only unusual thing was that the passengers had to be walked to the aircraft because it was 'too dangerous to drive on the apron' according to our handling agent. But that wasn't a problem either because we were parked less than 100 metres from the door and the snow was nowhere more than one foot deep :) On the way back we carried two colleagues of our customers who got stranded at Heathrow. Well done Biggin Hill!
