Not only Lion Air suffer from run off... its happens to many... Welcome to Indonesia.. cant single out any one carrier...indonesian runways are narrow and slick like french bikini wax....:p
Merpati Plane Skids Off Runway at Lombok Airport
A Merpati Nusantara Airlines plane skidded off the runway at West Nusa Tenggara's Lombok International Airport on Monday, antaranews.com reported. No one was injured.
A Monday morning flight out of Bima, on neighboring Sumbawa island, slipped off the tarmac while attempting to taxi toward the terminal,said Ridwan Syah, head of West Nusa Tenggara’sTransportation Agency, Ridwan Syah. The pilot said he had trouble steering the plane because of a suspected hydraulic issue with its landing gear.
The plane's front wheel became stuck in the turf shortly before noon on Monday, Ridwan said.
Transportation officials expect to remove the plane and restore normal service by Monday afternoon.
The airport was closed until crews removed the stuck aircraft.
