Four little known good educational and entertaining books about the history of Chinese aviation and the expatriate men who did the flying.
(1) " China Pilot " by Captain Felix Smith. An autobiography of his life flying with CAT ( Civil Air Transport ) as a soldier of fortune during the Chinese civil war. 309 pages.
(2) " An Airline at War " by Robert Willett. The story of the Pan American connection to CNAC ( China National Aviation Corporation ) during China's civil war from 1929 to 1949. 360 pages.
(3) " Forgotten Aviator " by B. Martin. A biography of the flying life of Captain Royal Leonard an ex TWA pilot who was the personal pilot of General Chiang Kai Shek during China's Civil War. 245 pages.
(4) " China's Wings " by Gregory Crouch. One man's view of the Pan American pilots who were flying in China for CNAC ( China National Aviation Corporation ) from 1929 to 1949. 498 pages.
These books are now out of print but all four are available from Amazon.
