I have had a utility for quite a while that allows me to download full HD1080 youtube clips to my desktop for later perusal,one copied the url for the clip selected the resolution ie 1080p or 720 pasted the url into the address windowclicked download and orf it tootled and downloaded the buggah no probs,might take its time over a large clip but it did it,now it seems to tell me there is no clip to download when I go through the above procedure,.
Have perchance youtube done something recently to prevent us downloading these clips or do the posters of clips do something themselves to prevent the download? is my utility up the creek.
:confused:

theres been a recent Youtube redesign, but I've not heard of it breaking anything like this
Must admit I've never liked that "Youtube Downloader" - somer versions of it (at least) come with embedded spyware and I've had to clean up a few resulting messes in the past
Best Youtube download solution as far as I can see is still simply to install the free version of Realplayer and use the download button it places within the Youtube video frame

Maybe the problem is the downloader you're using. I've been using the same tool, Torch browser, for quite a while and everything works fine, even after YT have changed their display.
You can also save other videos with it (from other sites, I mean).
You can find it here- Torch Web Browser - Your All in One Internet Browser (http://www.torchbrowser.com) :}

I use 'freedownloadmanager',works really well.
Box appears in top left corner of youtube, when you click on gives a list of all vid sizes,click on the largest for best quality.

If you're using FireFox try using the 'download manager' add on.

I use Video DownloadHelper - an add-on for Firefox

There's a plugin for Firefox called "Easiest YouTube Video Downloader" that I am happy with at the moment. It makes appear a "Download" button right after the video and it does really work. I do like it.
