That thread is very useful reading for low hours ppls such as I, and perhaps some benefit can be obtained from this poor chap's misfortune if we use it as a reminder of how quickly things can deteriorate. I was supposed to fly locally from EGSX yesterday, but didn't because of the tempos. I was then kicking myself as it looked like bright sunshine all day. I wonder how I would have coped if I'd called it the other way. Sobering stuff.
