Does anyone know of any web-sites containing photos of Heathrow and Bournemouth (Hurn) old runway layouts? I am especially interested in the usage of Hurn's old 13/31 runway.

I am just doing a bit of personal research and wish to get some mental images of what I'm reading about.

"Wings over Dorset" by Leslie Dawson (Dorset Publishing Company, ISBN 0 948699 10 8) has large photos of the wartime Hurn on pp176/7 and modern airfield on pp 218/9. When I worked at BAC, I was told that the old main runway used to go right out to the dual carriageway as they had to have enough space for the gliders & their tow aircraft (see photo on p. 179).

I was back in the area last November & if you're looking for anything on the extended centre-line of any of the runways you're likely to find it under a housing estate!
