Hi all...I recently started using Zone Alarm for my fire wall...its on a desktop pc running win XP,

I have been using Zone Alarm fire wall for a few weeks now and Avast is still my current A/V,

I wonder how Zone Alarms A/V compares to the Avast I use now and if its worth changing over to Z/A for the A/V.

Nick.

Isn't ZA with A/V the one you have to pay for? http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.pprune.org/get/images/smilies/eek.gif

I've been using your current setup for many years.

yes you have to pay for ZA's A/V software

the simplest way of answering the question is to point out that Avast consistently comes in the top three programmes in comparitive tests of scanning capabilities
ZA doesn't

FREE ZA AV is available and I have it installed on one XP machine, but I do prefer ZA firewall plus Avast separate on other XP and Win7 machines.

I see,

PDT I was wondering if having ZA and Avast running together there maybe a conflict....I take it that this is not the case.

magpienja, I have ZA firewall only and Avast on two machines (XP and Win7) and the complete ZA package that includes AV on another (XP) with no problems or conflicts on any.
Neither are available for Win8.
