If you consider the engine fault to be the cause of this delay, all 315 passengers are entitled to €600 compensation. If you add the other 315 passengers stranded in LAS that brings their cash liability to €378,000. That in addition to Hotac and meal costs, another 80-100K?

However I'm sure they will argue that it was an extraordinary circumstance due to US customs. (Methinks it would have been extraordinary had they done anything to help.)

So, the courts will have to decide, meaning it's the lawyers who will get rich.

Comments from Pax that dont understand as usual.

They don't have a slot, they can't go, and no amount of whinging changes that.

So easy to say when you're not the one stuck for hours on the ground Alex757.

So Las Vegas is so busy with arriving international flights that there are no customs going to be available?

The other minor issue with MAN-LAS is crew hours, small tech delay and all of a sudden you need to replace the crew. Roll on EASA FTL (Joke) :\

In this instance crew hours shouldn't be a problem. MAN being a home base with crews on standby.
