Hey all, drove past the aviation museum today and noticed a bras, minus a ton of parts from the airframe parked near the gomad. Out of curiosity anyone know bras airnorth scrapped and why?

During the downturn of 2008 it was parked in the hanger and ratted out to keep the rest of the fleet going.

As the replacement parts arrived they were placed in stores.

When the beancounter CEO arrived, she had a heart attack when she saw how much $$$ the company had in stores, so she sold them all.

When they needed it going again it wasn't economical to put into service so it was scrapped.

Beancounter logic 101.

I thought they were going to donate it to a TAFE or something for up and coming AMEs and LAMEs?

Unfortufately I dont think there is much of a future for LAME's anymore so they might as well scrap it for the cash value of scrap aluminium.:{:{
