I was in the sim the other day, the approach's we were doing were over high terrain and we were give colour photocopies of the approach plates, so the terrain was the standard Jep brownie orange with lots of way point's number ect overlaid

The sim is dark and I found it very hard to read the small black print against
the Brown colour to the terrain.

Question, is this why we don't have colour charts? I think I can remember being told something about always to take your IF chart out of it's protector cover at night because it can cause glare and possibly mis read?

Can't find anything about this issue I had or do I just need to go get my eyes tested...:8

You're not going blind.

1. Turn the lights up.

2. Depending on your chart holders, they do reflect a bit/lot. That's why the Jepp ones are very matt-ish (and expensive). Using shiny ones? Better out of holder when in Sim.

3. I'm not sold on colours, especially when they clog up the chart.

4. Jepp shouldn't be allowed to print charts that are smaller than the CASA medical standard. Some of the font sizes it uses are just ridiculous. I need a 12-globe LED light half the itme just to read them.
