View Full Version : EASA Renewal... where's my IMCR gone?

JAR PPL(A) expired a couple of weeks ago.

EASA licence arrived in yesterday's post, "SEP (land)" and "Night" have been included in the Ratings section.

My IMCR, which is valid til June 2014, has not been included. I had understood this would transfer across as an IR (Restricted). The only mention is on the back page under "Ratings previously held by the holder" where it lists "IR (Restricted)". There is a statement saying that section does not form part of the licence.

Oversight on the part of the CAA, or am I missing something obvious here?

You probably didn't pay enough!

You needed to provide proof that the rating was current when you applied for the new licence. When an IMCr was renewed no paper work is ever sent to the CAA just the licence signed. The CAA would have known you had an IMCr but not the validity so it would end up on the ratings previously held page.

You just need to contact FCL with a copy of your old ratings page showing the validity and they will reissue it for you.

They received a certified copy of the ratings page with valid IMCR and SEP (land) entries. It's part of the supporting documentation you send off for the renewal (together with a certified copy of the medical).

Presume it's their oversight and will contact FCL tomorrow.

What if anything will I get back in January when I renew my licence? My IMCR expired about 4 years ago! Is it still possible to renew it or the EASA version?

Yes it is - see CAP804 Section 5 Part E pp 4-5.

This has happened to a couple of people - after speaking to FCL a new licence was issued straight away with the correct details. It is an oversight/admin error, not a loss of privileges! This is why I've hung onto my (now expired) JAR licence purely to forestall any questions in the future.

I spoke to FCL yesterday, who confirmed that my IMCr should have been included as a current IR(R) rating, rather than an expired rating. They are going to re-issue the licence.
