I have lost the titles in all the forums in Pprune using my desktop computer. This is with aol, IE and Netscape. In IE the titles are blank and in Netscape they are replaced with blue blocks. I deleted all the temp internet files in Windows and IE and aol and checked that the storage for temp internet files is adequate, but to no effect. I am using my laptop to type this.
Can anybody point me to what to check?

Thanks in advance..

since 1st April has passed some time ago....what happens when you click any topic which is blank or where you see these blocks...

What happes with other websites...check your computer for language and !!!fonts!!!

I am not aware of any virus calling this problem...

The titles are blank, or in Netscape they are replaced with a large blue box. When I put the cursor over the spot the title should be it does not change, and clicking on the spot where the title should be does not result in any action. So I cannot open any title, which means I cannot use Pprune on that computer.
I did a virus scan and it was clean.
I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but just before I tried Pprune I had upgraded IE to version 6.2 (from 6.1), but after seeing the problem I used GOBACK to revert to the previous version and it still did not work.
I asked the moderator but no reply so far.

All other web sites work normally, so far as I have seen so far, and all other functions on the computer are normal.
The computer is a Sony 528DS with lots of RAM and stuff, but has been a problem since day one.

this upgrade and go-bach should not have any influence on Netscape. On the other hand, there maybe something which was overwritten or even deleted during the upgrade.
I assume you have Windows XP installed...or how did you go back?

There will be no damage to re-install IE in the current version again, try this and report further.

Out of curiosity which version of Netscape? I view PPRuNe in versions 3, 4, and 6 with no annoyance but the (new) scrolling issue. Also, just to be sure, what exactly are you are referring to? The frame for the Computer/Internet Issues forum, like the other forums, has a table with eight columns. Are you referring to the cells of the third column? These have two anchors. In the left of the cell is a small icon. To its right is the topic title. Is that what appears as a blue block in Netscape x.x? In the fourth column, immediately to the right, is the topic stater. How does that appear? (I ask because the HTML coding is similar.) My initial guess was that it was a font problem but the fonts called for are standard and in any event, as an experiment, I replaced the specified fonts by fictitious fonts and Netscape handled the font absence gracefully.

I've lost the blue, underlined topic titles in the third column. The cursor does not react when I drag the mouse over the area, so I cannot open any title. I tried re-loading IE to no effect but I will try again. IE, AOL and Netscape 4.2 give the same problem, although in Netscape the missing titles are replaced with a blue block.
I loaded McAfee version 6 because they do not support version 4 any longer, and it affected the mouse, caused the computer to lock up and I lost the task bar. Re-booting worked for only a few minutes before the problem re-ocurred, so I uninstalled Mcafee, and everything came back, but the problem with IE/AOL/Netscape on Pprune remains.
There must be something affecting this part of the program. I have had problems with Java script before, could that be a reason and what can I do about it? I have had messages telling me that java script cannot be read, but when I close it the graphics and text operate normally.
Anyway, this is an old problem and has not affected Pprune in the past.

I don't know if Javascript is the problem but it's easy enough to check. From the Netscape Edit menu select Preferences. Then select Advanced, then uncheck the Javascript box. Any titles?

First thing to find out is if the HTML is being rendered correctly in your browser. If there's no hyperlink there, then something's clearly amiss. Click (in the browser menu) View then Source. In the new window search for 'Pprune Topic Titles' without the quotes. The cell entry (<td>) should look like this:
<td bgcolor="#e5e5e5" align="left" width="70%"><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="2" ><a href="showthread.php?s=&goto=newpost&threadid=49959"><img src="images/infopop/firstnew.gif" border="0" alt="Go to first new post" align="absmiddle" /></a>
<a href="showthread.php?s=&threadid=49959">Pprune Topic Titles</a></font> <font face="verdana,arial,helvetica" size="1" ></font></td>

What's yours say ?

No JavaScript there, and although there's a bit of font /font nonsense (typical of so-called HTML 'generators'), that shouldn't be a problem.
