Does anybody have a clue as to the approximate number of hours are clocked up on one of their aircraft, is it thousands?

My information is certainly not first hand, but I've been looking for these numbers as well. It seems that they put about 1200 hours on an airframe during the better times.

Typically fractionals try to sell 800 hours per aircraft. In the AIN Fractional & Charter Market Special Report November 2012 there is a quote of the Managing Director of Avinode, saying that "In the U.S., about 30 percent [of charter flights] are empty legs."

I also read that NetJets was getting better at avoiding empty legs and that many customers were underflying their contracts. So right now I would expect this number to be anywhere from 1000-1100 hours per aircraft. Probably closer to 1000. But it's nothing more than an (hopefully) educated guess on my behalf! :)
