Hi there

I've looked for some info regarding the company Primera Air in the search tool but nothing.
Do you guys know anything regarding the pilot conditions?
Salary, roster, stability, etc.. I've seen that they'll be recruiting for 2013 season, summer only? Long term?

Cheers.

Oh nice, got 2600hours :ok:

Just received an automatic email:

Interviews for selected candiates will be held durring the period from November 2012 to February 2013. Depending on crew need and training schedule, pilots will be phased in for summer contracts. Contract lengths will be from 3-7 months. The jobs offered will be for a fixed term, not permanent terms. In the fall 2013, when crew need for winter 2013-2014 is clear, continued work might be offered. Selection criteria for continued work will depend on mutual interest, bases available, crew composition and performance.

We hope this answers the questions you might have.

If you guys want the job right now and to be flying for years growing hours and € it isn't a really good option.
But better than nothing!

It is indeed, have been in Lion Air now for 1+ years. I also sent application to Primera Air. But it sounds a bit unstable. Just really don't want to stand in a situation where they don't need any flying for winter season.
What about the Norwegian contract program, any success?

I know of one person who started back in Spring who will continue over Winter

(albeit with a base in HEL . . . . or in Winter should that be HELL ? ;) ) but I don't know how many others were given this opportunity.

It seems their requirement is a bit seasonal, but then again, ask any Ryanair FO how many hours he expects to fly between now & Springtime

Got the mail saying all places have been filled for the coming year but if there are any changes in feb 2013 then more crew can be sourced. Been sending out CVs for the past 5 months and everyone in europe is fully crewed for the coming year. Really don't fancy picking up the family and moving to Asia but that could be my next move if nothing comes through soon.

Boeing where did you apply in the pacific?

Has anyone applied to Primera air this year? I applied last week still have not heard anything? Does anyone know how many guys they are looking for? It seems like in the past they have recruited only 10-20 and had a huge number of applications I can't see how as it is only a summer contract....

I know of someone who joined as a Contract Capt, he has not much more than 500 Command time. Money is good, a 6 mth contract with very high possibility of extension (probably on 50% ) into the Winter.

Bases proposed were Billund, somewhere else I don't remember, and Iceland. Roster/ money was (if I remember correctly ) sightly better in Iceland.

You are employed via their Latvian AOC, as far as I know tax/social is YOUR responsibility.

Primera has now started with their own TR courses and apparently 2016/17 course 13 out of 35 got hired......mostly pilots from Denmark who knew the TRIīs got a contract! During groundschool students were told 85% of the course students or everyone were needed for the summer to spread the word. Fully qualified pilots with 1000 to 2000+ hrs didīt get the job after completed TR. HQ in Riga was really badly organised and interviewer barely speaks english. Primera have found a new way to earn some cash. Captains are leaving and economy is going down! This is info i got from an inside source.

New course starting in fall 2017! Latvian AOC! You can figure out the rest!

Wow - that looks GOD AWFUL.

No surprise the strategy they are following which is similar to NAI in terms of circumventing expensive and inflexible Nordic labor laws... And yet they expect to fill their shiny new, transatlantic-bound 737-9 MAX aircraft with experienced crew. Good luck with that!

Well Iver, as it happens the good ole legacy carrier oop north is planning to follow its low cost rival with agency workers based in the UK (pre-Brexit at least). Looking at the package at hand, I wouldn't be surprised if you soon see a jump from blue to red.
