According to the AWP-2/4, 11 Gp/18 Gp and the RN split colour state Yellow into Y1 and Y2.

The problem being, of course, that these organisations no longer exist, having been subsumed within 1 Gp/3 Gp/Joint Force 2000.

Can anyone tell me if 3 Gp use/support Y1 & 2, or have they reverted to just Yellow along with 1 Gp and 2 Gp?

They're still used in SAR (3Gp)

Anyone know about LU/CY/LI/KS/YL etc? Or is it just the SAR force?

What does say in the latest FIH?

A point of order ORAC. The RN haven't been absorbed by anybody! There is more to naval aviation than a few puff jets (or should I say "sleek grey defenders of the fleet")

OK, but you know what I meant.

Do the FAA/Culdrose/Yeovilton still report Wx using Y1 & 2 or have they gone to just just Yellow?

Are LU/LI/CY using the old 11 Gp Y1 & 2 or have they standardised with 1 Gp on Yellow?

What do 3 Gp/KS/SM use?

The Y1/Y2 distinction was the most useful of the colour states. Y2 Green rated only, Y1 launch the fleet!

Totally agree with you Ali!! The rest of the FAA/RNASs still do and will continue with Y1/Y2:D

Well stated Soup Dragon! ORAC, me old...the RN definitely do still exist. Even if they make us re-number our formations and talk on studs instead of channels!
