Gentlemen

Could any of you learned Gentlemen advise an Old ex GA Man if there is anything that could compare aircraft for certain specific flights with a specifice number of pax..

This may be a Pie in the sky but I was asked today which aircraft could meet the following criteria

8-10 Passnegers Dubai to th UK Non Stop

I can only think of G4/G4SP/G5/Global etc etc

I have not been in proper figures for 4 Years + but would be intrested to see what aircraft would meet the Criteria

This request might prove to be totally crap but I know the Man has many very intresting friends so who knows

any info gladly appreciated

Regards to all who know or choose not to know me

Milk run for a Falcon 900. Can't think of many smaller aircraft that would do it, CL604/5 maybe but would be at the top end of the range.

Try the Aircraft Performance Comparator from Conklin & Decker or just play a little with the Jeppesen FliteMap Corporate Software.
Although nothing beats 1st hand knowledge from fellow pilots

Done Dubai-UK (North) many times in a Falcon 900, it can be a struggle with the headwinds and ended up doing a tech stop most times. The 900EX no problem.

CL604 or 605 could do it most days. Just over 3000nm and it'll do that easily. Winter winds across the ME might pose a problem combined with winter weather in the UK.

What people tend to forget in these calculations is the level of comfort sought by private jet passengers.

While I have done DXB to UK nonstop in a Falcon 900 several times, I don't know of a single actual Falcon (including the 7x) that is laid out to provide VIP seating and actual comfort for 8, let alone 10 passengers. It's bad enough to share a relatively narrow conference table for 7 hours; it's worse sitting sideways on the sofa with people having to squeeze by your regularly on their way to the loo..

If you think about it, only the very biggest Gulfstream cabin and the bigger Bombardier cabin can be laid out for 10 VIPs, and that only in 1 or 2 of the available versions...

Now of course, if 3 or 4 of the party are maids and bodyguards, that may not be a factor..

there is always the Legacy 650, especially as you can take luggage for 10.

But what is the 650 range? I thought that would be an issue on that route if I recall...

err that is the Legacy 650 not that nice piece of metal from Gulfstream

Sorry to say that, but the Legacy, challenger at 6€05 are DEFINITLY not playing in the same courtyard as GLF,GLOBAL and the 7X .

the only embraea aircraft that can make that flight profile would be a linerage 1000, the legacy 650 could do it with only 4 pax.

other aircraft that could do the flight would be the BBJ/2/3, ACJ320 and above, the G450/500/550/650 would also do it. Also the global's could do it as well.

Gerry, for 8-10 pax you are looking at exactly the right airframes.

Be a tight fit with 8 pax and out of the question with 10, even with the double club in the back,it will just be uncomfortable and your pax will not be thanking you for it, nor booking it again.

Don't forget the early letdowns coming into the TMA, couple that with winter winds and you will be tech stopping in a 604/5

You're going to need a GLEX or GLF to do that in any kind of comfort.

Hope you're well Gerry,

Hi,

Also study the Embraer Lineage 1000.

Good luck,

Ive done that run many times in a GV and 604. I'm currently flying the 604 and its a common sector for us. 4/5 pax maximum for comfort and fuel considerations on the 604. Even on the GV, I wouldn't call 10 pax "comfortable".

OSf, you are missing the point, the question is not how many can you fit in the 604 to make it, the Q is can you get 8-10 in. The answer to the second Q is no.

It is just irrelevant to leave half his pax load behind so you can do it in a 604. a 604/5 is out of the question for the given task. End of.

two ways to think about things...get something small that you fill up and make it...just barely...maybe fuel efficent and new

or

buy an older airliner...modify as needed with additionalfuel tanks, customize interior...but have extra room...less fuel efficent but likely more comfortable...try an older DC9 and modify with extra tanks in belly, forego cargo, but use cabin for luggage...probably very comfortable

I think the DC9 is a little past it's sell by date.

As good and as long lasting an airframe that it was it is really ancient these days with very thirsty, very loud engines.

I would think you'd be better with something a bit more modern.

I've been in a converted VIP DC9. High level of comfort compared to a 900 or even a GLEX, but extremely expensive to operate, and somewhat unreliable...

OP, if you really want comfort for your pax, outfits like Acropolis / Global Jet / Comlux will give you a quote on an ACJ or BBJ :}

The Sukhoi SuperJet 100 would also be able to achieve this mission....

If you're going to look at the Lineage, then the Italian/Russian/French machine seems to offer more bang for the buck on the face of it.....

Yes, i am tee'ing that ball up to be struck.....;)
