Hi,

I'm a spanish mech. I'm looking the possibility to work as contractor because I've been offered some jobs but I need to be Ltd.

Here in Spain contractor is an unknown word so I'm lost, also it is not as easy as in UK to create a Ltd. company and more expensive.

I would like to know if it is possible to work as a sole trader instead of Ltd. company. In Spain a sole trader can act as a Ltd company and issue invoices with VAT and all relevant taxes.

Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes you can establish your business as a sole trader in the UK. Take a look at the link below which provides basic information on what is required and links to more detailed information.

Becoming a sole trader | Business Link (http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/detail?itemId=1073789606&type=RESOURCES)

You do of course need to register with the tax authorities as a sole trader keeping accounts, paying taxes and you also need to register for VAT purposes if you are above the VAT threshold.
