I am a 25 year old ppl and am considering going on to do my CPL with a view to eventually flying for airlines. Given that I probably wont have the required experience until I am closer to 30 am I too old to be starting CPL now?
Many thanks for your time.

On BA's website they do say that for their sponsorship the latest you can apply is when you're 26, but can commence training when you're 27. Then for Direct Entry pilots they draw the line at 49.

So my immediate response would be certainly not. The oldest person I heard of who did ATPL training and then got an airline job successfully was a guy of about 42; given that you'd be around 12 years less than that when you'd finish, you 'should' be alright.

Perhaps someone with experience of doing training/getting a job etc. at early 30's could give a post here, or an administrator.

Hope this helps;

SS

BTW: Scroggs, I've sent you a private message - please check.

Have a read and see your age is not a problem.
