Just spotted it on the G.A.T. Ramp at LOS - a B.737-400 with a shiny new blue/green/white paint scheme. Also describes itself as 'The Airline of Nigeria' - possibly a somewhat premature statement?

I obviously haven't been keeping up to date with Nigeria's aviation news. Who owns the airline and how many aircraft planned etc?

Good to hear Meds airplanes have started to arrive Lagos.

I gather they are all ex Olympic B737-400 quite young and in extremely great shape...(not surprised since ex Olympic )

To all my buddies at Medview make it good and welcome....

It's heartening also to learn (on this thread), that an airline pro, and presumably a Nigerian, is behind the airline. Remember, Dana was set up by billionaires (no, I have nothing against them), which means deep pockets. But here, from what we glean, it's passion and commitment to local industry that must fire MedView. And what's more, equipment choice reflects pure guts. I read in nigerianaviation.wordpress that markets will include Yola and Maiduguri. Here's hoping they do serve those places.

Medview is only accepting guys with time on type which is a pity.
Any pictures of the airplane??
BALEWA, I gather the planes are over 20 years old, delivered to Olympic Airways in 1991.
Olympic folded at the end of 2009 and these 734's were ferried for storage only in 2011 so who knows what state they were in?
Having said that, I hope that they were well looked after before being flown down here.

Best of luck to Med View then. The aircraft cetainley sparkled in the morning Lagos sunshine- and as Balawe stated it looked in very good shape.

I wish them all the best and hope they do well - the capacity is needed at the moment.

Bit of competion is always very healthy.

When Is Victor's airline starting? I mean Victor the DFO of.

Hate to be cynical

-no marketing or advertising or branding
-employment by type not competence
-no clear cut strategy
-haphazard recruitment
-Entry into a market that is demanding newer equipment

All too familiar, anyone care to place a wager on life span?

Bright side they get to rescue JI staff thrown into the job market, but medview is clearly not the promised land.

No one said Medview was the promised land here, there's absolutely nothing wrong in celebrating the arrival of Medview into the arena especially after Air Nigeria and the hardship it has bestowed on it's workers.

ediks I think you need to check your sources concerning the date of production of Medview aircraft's. I got their dates and former regs right here....:=
