Hi All,
Long time listener, first time caller. Studying ATPL Flight planning and went to book my exam on ASL exams yesterday but on their home page they have this message:

'Until further notice, the delivery of ATPL AFPA exams is on hold. For those candidates who have already booked, you will be contacted if your session changes.'

Did a pprune search but to not avail.

Anyone know why this happened or what will happen with the exam?

Thanks in advance and hope I haven't posted this in the wrong forum.

Apparently they have run out of daft questions and are awaiting a resupply.:}

Maybe they finally learnt that there really is such a thing as a stupid question.

PS Sorry I don't have anything constructive to add. I know nothing of this issue.

I recall hearing Noel Lamont say, years ago, something to the affect that, "any practical relevance of ATPL theory to the actual operation of an aeroplane is pure coincidence".

Ditto, Nav as well. Circa '84 & '85. He was a top bloke. GREAT stories! :8

Love it!

Does anyone know why the exam is down? I had planned to study flight planning next.

Perhaps the long-awaited and much talked about change from the B727 to the B767 as the aircraft of choice is in the offing.

Especially now as they are slowly being phased out. :}

Just a thought - no special insight here.

Love it :ok: Going from the 727 that hasn't operated RPT for what? The last 10 years? To a type that shortly wont be operating RPT :cool:

Perhaps they should base the exam on the westwind.
