Whats involved in an initial jet endorsement for a Citation Mustang.

Pilots experiance is several thousand hrs piston IFR (Chieftain and P Navajo) but no turbine time.

Is there anyone in oz or best best to go to Flight Safety in the US. How long does that take.

Give Phil Laffer a call at Flight Options Flight Training (part of Aeromil) on the Sunshine Coast. They are doing endorsements using the SIA sims.

Guptar,

The most obvious thing you will experience is how simple and straightforward the Mustang( and most jets) is to fly, including asymmetric, compared to a PA-31 or the Cessna equivalent ----- but the way CASA treats a "jet", you would think you were flying something almost beyond the capabilities of a mere mortal.

The best course is Flight Safety, in the US. There you will taught to fly the aeroplane the way Cessna designed it to be flown. Which is the safest way to fly it, without all the "Australian" add-on's ---- most of which violate the AFM for the aircraft, and therefor breach CAR 138. But, Hey!!, this is Australia!!

In the long run, Flight Safety might also be the cheapest way. CASA accept the Flight Safety course for endorsement.

Tootle pip!!
